The Bituminous packers are
prefabricated membranes based on bitumen and elastomeric polymers (SBS),
reinforced with glass fiber with high dimensional stability.
They are used to protect the concrete
precast segments during the installation.
The packers are normally applied on the long sides, avoiding the
concentration of load on the segments by dividing the effort of thrust jacks
and allowing a more secure sealing of the corners otherwise subjected to
breakage.
The Bituminous packers help to increase the coefficient of
friction by reducing the effect of rotation of the ring.
The packers are designed on the specific request in
accordance to the Customer's need.
